Boundless Celebrates Four Years of OpenGeo Suite with version 4.0.2

Ongoing Commitment to Leading Enterprise Geospatial Software Stack

New York, NY January 23, 2014 — For four years, OpenGeo Suite has enabled enterprises to replace legacy software with an advanced, web-based open source geospatial stack. To celebrate, Boundless, formerly OpenGeo, released OpenGeo Suite 4.0.2, which includes several improvements and fixes. This update represents a continued commitment to maintaining the most effective open source enterprise geospatial software on the market. When reached for comment about the release Eddie Pickle, Boundless CEO, said, “OpenGeo Suite embodies what Boundless is all about: developing and supporting powerful, easy-to-use enterprise software based upon solid open source community projects. For four years, OpenGeo Suite has proven itself as the leading open source geospatial platform. It is the core of our many successful commercial engagements ”

Since releasing the first version of OpenGeo Suite in 2010, the software has been downloaded over 70,000 times and is now in production at many large organizations, including leading government, telecommunications, defense and other enterprises around the world. Many Boundless customers — including Portland TriMet, New York City DoITT, MassGIS, NOAA, FCC, Ordnance Survey among others  —  have benefited from maintenance, support, and unlimited bug fixes from Boundless over the past four years.

The OpenGeo Suite 4.0 series includes many new features and improvements over previous versions:
