Summit Evolution Software by DAT/EM Systems International now processes CartoSat-1 Satellite Imagery

Anchorage, Alaska, USA. February 25, 2014 – DAT/EM Systems International introduces the capability to process high-resolution CartoSat-1 satellite imagery in its flagship digital photogrammetric workstation, Summit Evolution.

Designed for geo-engineering (mapping) applications calling for high-resolution panchromatic imagery with high pointing accuracies in India, the CartoSat-1 Satellite (IRS P5) was built by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and produces panchromatic stereoscopic imagery. ISRO recently released the CartoSat sensor models and the rational polynomial coefficients necessary to geolocate the imagery. By combining these parameters with measured ground control points, Summit Evolution can efficiently orient CartoSat imagery and enable the imagery for stereo viewing, 3D feature collection, and terrain processing.

“We are proud to be able to add our first Indian satellite to our ever-growing constellation of natively supported sensors”, said Stan Moll, DAT/EM’s International Business Development Manager. “This important satellite in India and the world can now be used in all its glory with Summit Evolution.”

Summit Evolution offers the ability to view and orient the CartoSat-1 imagery in stereo as well as utilize the program’s vast set of photogrammetry tools for feature collection.
