McLean, Va. … AMT, : April11, 2014 – The Association For Manufacturing Technology has opened registration for the Smartforce Student Summit at IMTS- The International Manufacturing Technology Show 2014 being held at Chicago’s McCormick Place Sept. 8 – 13. Registration for students and educators is free.

IMTS is the largest industrial trade show in the Americas, drawing more than 100,000 visitors and featuring 1,900 exhibitors. The Smartforce Student Summit is held in conjunction with IMTS and gives students a first-hand, interactive view of manufacturing technology, in addition to promoting careers in the industry.

Students can engage with companies that specialize in products and programs for schools including machinery, robotics, machine simulators, 3D printers, virtual welding, plus cool, real-world examples of consumer and high tech products. Then, students and educators will have free access to nearly 1.3 million square feet of exhibits featuring the most innovative manufacturing technology available today.

Community colleges and engineering schools will be on hand to discuss future educational opportunities.
