250 companies already use PROSTEP's OpenDESC.com

Darmstadt, Germany, 15-Apr-2014– The latest customer to opt for the data conversion and transfer solution OpenDESC.com is SK Continental E-motion (SCE). This means that PROSTEP is now welcoming what is already its 250th customer.

SCE is a joint venture between the Korean company SK Innovation and the German company Continental AG. The joint venture bundles the expertise of both technological leaders, developing energy storage devices for the e-mobility of the future. The main focus of the collaboration is lithium-ion battery systems for the automotive industry.

It is intended that the disparate software systems used up until now continue to be used within the framework of the close collaboration between the two companies, also for communication with other development partners. OpenDESC.com's prime discipline: If development data needs to be exchanged – be it between the two companies or with development partners – the data is automatically converted into to correct target format and, if desired, sent. The employees can continue to use the software they are familiar with, which allows errors to be avoided and saves on training time. It also avoids the cost of new software and the problems inherent to switching software.

SCE was extremely pleased with the high level of professionalism with which PROSTEP's experts implemented the project and is delighted with OpenDESC.com's easy handling.
