Trio Adds Fresh Talent to Design Team at Goldstein, Hill & West Architects

Jairo Juliao, Angel Castillo, and Murali Nallamothu Named Newest Additions to Residential Architecture and Design Firm

( New York, NY – April 24, 2014) – Goldstein, Hill & West Architects (GHWA), a New York City-based architecture firm responsible for more than 35,000 residential units in over 100 buildings throughout Manhattan, welcomes three additions to its growing design team – Jairo Juliao, Angel Castillo, and Murali Nallamothu. The firm has grown to a staff of 100 over the course of five years.

“Jairo, Angel and Murali each bring a unique talent and work experience to our team at GHWA. Their understanding of the New York City real estate and architectural community will be a great asset to GHWA as the firm continues to expand its network and design capabilities for several upcoming high-rise residential projects,” said Alan Goldstein, a founding partner at GHWA.

Jairo Juliao comes to GHWA as a project manager with 20 years of experience in the industry, most recently as a senior project architect at Blackstone 360 in Newark, N.J. At the firm, he was involved in architectural designing and drafting using AutoCAD, architectural detailing, color rendering and computer generating 3-dimensional animation for high rise residential buildings, commercial office projects, multi-family buildings and retail projects.

At GHWA, Juliao will be responsible for managing the project team through all aspects of a project from schematic design, design documents, construction documents through construction administration. Juliao holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the National University of Colombia in Bogota, Colombia.

Angel Castillo, who joins GHWA as a project designer, has nearly ten years of experience in planning, design, construction drawing production and construction administration. In his new role, he will be charged with seeing projects through all phases of development.  He will also be responsible for developing exterior design concepts and reviewing architectural documents for potential conflicts with all disciplines.

Prior to joining GHWA, he was a project manager at GF 55 Partners in New York where he was part of the design team for 1951 Park Avenue, a 330,000 SF mixed-use development with three buildings and 310-units. Castillo was responsible for taking the project from design development to construction documents. Mr. Castillo holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a bachelor’s degree in science from the City College of New York.

As a project designer, Murali Nallamothu will be charged with the development of exterior design concepts for architectural projects, rendering and graphics production. Mr. Nallamothu will also be involved in preparing building models for wind tunnel tests.

Mr. Nallamothu was a senior technical architect at FX Fowle in Manhattan, and played a key role in the expansion of the existing backup electrical system in the renovation of the Jacob B. Javits Center in New York City.
