New Initiatives to Complement the Exhibition and Pavilion Panels at the 51st DAC

Automotive Village to be the center for tool providers, automotive designers and automobile manufacturers to network and learn

LOUISVILLE, Colo. – May 20, 2014 –– Complementing the all-embracing technical program at the 51st Design Automation Conference ( DAC), the premier conference devoted to design and design automation of electronic systems, is the exhibition floor, which will feature over 190 exhibitors, 17 first-time exhibitors, 16 exciting Pavilion Panels, the ARM® Connected Community® Pavilion and the new Automotive Village.

DAC 2014 will be held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco, Calif. from June 1st to 5th, 2014. The exhibit floor is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am – 6pm.  Kicking off the exhibition in the DAC Pavilion on Monday, June 2nd, will be Gary Smith with his annual “Trends and What’s Hot at DAC” from 9:15-10:15am.

“DAC is all about the dynamic interaction between designers, developers, management and ecosystem vendors,” said Brett Cline of Cadence Design Systems and Industry Advisory Chair, 51st DAC. “We are extremely excited about this year’s exhibition, which brings together the conference program’s new initiatives with DAC’s traditional exhibit highlights.”

Many of these first-time exhibitors are IP providers and suppliers that blend with the new IP Track on Monday, bringing together a strong IP initiative for the first time at DAC.

A feature at the exhibition is the ARM® Connected Community® Pavilion, where attendees can visit ARM technology-based demos from ARM partners. Currently 17 partners are exhibiting in the ARM Connected Community Pavilion.

New to the conference is the Automotive Village sponsored by Wrightspeed.  Wrightspeed will be showcasing  their plug and play repower kit for medium duty commercial trucks.  The Automotive Village is the center for tool providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and leading automobile manufacturers to meet, talk, listen and learn from each other. Exhibitors include: ANSYS, Dassault Systems, MathWorks, Mentor Graphics, SimuQuest and Synopsys. “Conversation and Cocktails” will provide a networking event in the Automotive Village on Monday, June 2, from 5:00 - 6:00pm.

DAC Pavilion
The DAC Pavilion is one of the traditional highlights on the exhibition floor, offering all attendees the opportunity to learn about key areas of design through an eclectic mix of panels, presentations and interviews. The Pavilion will host a lineup of 16 exciting, educational and entertaining panels including a fireside chat with Wally Rhines, CEO, Mentor Graphics and James Buczkowski, Henry Ford Technical Fellow, Ford Motor Company and a device “tear-down” that was pre-selected by DAC attendees. Networking at DAC

A main component of DAC for all attendees is the opportunity over four days to network with colleagues, researchers and friends.  DAC offers several networking events throughout the week for attendees and exhibitors to enjoy. Events open to attendees include:
