Innovative spaces for work, retail and learning the focus of a new IE School of Architecture program

Jun 5, 2014 -- IE School of Architecture and Design, part of the well-known and top rated IE Business School in Madrid, Spain, continues to innovative in terms of course content and delivery methods. Recognizing that traditional boundaries reflect less and less the real knowledge needed to perform in rapidly changing environments, the School has created a new master’s degree program called “Design for work, retail and learning environments.”   The 13-month course, directed at those who already have professional experience will combine architecture, technology, and organizational and market behavior.

Many of the traditional assumptions about time, place and space for working, learning and retail activities are currently being overturned by profound changes in technology, economics and culture. Against this background, the architects, designers, managers and strategists who will create tomorrow’s environments must figure out how to combine business objectives, spatial considerations and occupier needs in new, unprecedented ways.

Understanding users, interpreting organizational strategy, integrating technology and maximizing efficiency come together in this new Master program, which draws on an unparalleled network of experts in the field to explore designs for new experiences and behaviors. The program has itself been designed to be practical, dynamic and relevant, creating a learning experience with a direct and profound applicability.

Relying on the Business School´s experience and track record in “blended learning,”  this new program combines face-to-face  periods in Madrid and London with online classes, forums and tutorials.   A diverse community, in terms of professional backgrounds and nationalities, come together for a unique learning experience appropriate for the 21st century.
