GEOMATE unveils world’s first graphical spreadsheet

San Jose, California, June 20, 2014 – GEOMATE Company today released GrafiCalc Elements 7.0 software that enables users to conceptualize, analyze, and solve a wide range of product design challenges with unprecedented ease, speed, and accuracy while making informed decisions.  GrafiCalc Elements can be used standalone as well as in conjunction with Microsoft Office and all popular CAD applications on any computer running Vista, XP, Windows 7 or Windows 8.

GrafiCalc Elements works with geometry in the same way as spreadsheets work with numbers.  This is possible because GrafiCalc Elements combines the disciplines of 2D parametric sketching and “smart” graphical calculations in a single application that enables users to bi-directionally associate geometry and calculations in the same worksheet. Then, as any design parameter is varied in the worksheet, the entire worksheet is updated automatically in real time to deliver design decision-support information and optimal solution.

The latest version of GrafiCalc Elements incorporates an enhanced version of GEOMATE’s revolutionary matrix based geometry constraint manager that ensures a flat response regardless of the number of constraints in the solution model.  The conclusion mechanism and constraint inference engines have also been improved to handle unlimited number of circularities in the design intent.

Today millions of engineers are using Microsoft Excel for performing product design calculations.  Excel is a powerful mathematical tool but it is not possible to enter geometry directly in Excel.  This obliges Excel users to apply tedious mathematical calculations and equations-solving to solve geometry-dependant product design challenges.

GrafiCalc Elements supports Windows standard Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol that enables users to bi-directionally exchange information between GrafiCalc Elements and Microsoft Excel. This capability allows users to to create powerful graphical calculation macros in Graficalc Elements to drive Excel calculations and conversely allows them to use Excel expertise and calculations to drive GrafiCalc Elements solution models.  A built-in 2-way DXF translater enables users to exchange geometry between GrafiCalc Elements and CAD applications.

“Engineering companies are perpetually challenged by ever-increasing demand for more complex products, quicker delivery, and greater levels of functionality of each product they design,” said Shyamal Roy, founder of GEOMATE Company, “These pressures raise the stakes of getting the design right the first time. With GrafiCalc Elements, costly "build-test-fix" cycles will be minimized leading to faster time to market with innovative products.”

About GEOMATE:  GEOMATE is an employee owned company based in Silicon Valley in California.  GEOMATE Company's vision is driven by the fact that geometry and calculations are inseparable when solving product design challenges. Yet, since the Egyptians built the pyramids, engineers have used two separate tools to solve design challenges - one to define geometry the other for performing calculations. This has been a disconnected error-prone process that inhibits innovation. GEOMATE relentlessly listens to customers to develop, market, and support software products incorporating seamless fusion between geometrical and mathematical modeling. Currently there are thousands of users worlwide benefitting from GEOMATE’s groundbreaking products.
