  • Chrysler Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Event highlights suppliers of the year

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 10, 2014 — Robert Bosch LLC was recently named a Supplier of the Year for extraordinary performance in design, earning the company the Design for Six Sigma award during the Chrysler Group’s 4th Annual Strategy Meeting and Supplier Awards Event.

“At Bosch, we strive to design and develop top-of-the-line, technically sound products,” said Mike Mansuetti, president, Robert Bosch LLC. “Our success – and that of our customers – depends on our ability to produce high-quality products; this award reinforces that our team’s focused work is paying off. We are happy to receive such an award from Chrysler and look forward to strengthening our relationship going forward.”

Design for Six Sigma seeks to avoid manufacturing/service process issues by using advanced Voice of the Customer techniques and proper systems engineering techniques during the design phase. Bosch was honored for being an early adopter of this methodology and efficiently working on several projects with Chrysler. Paul Thomas, vice president of sales, Robert Bosch LLC, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

“We are pleased to recognize Bosch for their efficient, productive and skillful work on numerous Design for Six Sigma projects alongside our Electrical team,” said Matt Reynolds, head of Engineering College, Chrysler Group LLC. “We appreciate their partnership and collaboration and look forward to a strong relationship in the future.”

Award recipients were determined based on an evaluation of each company’s External Balanced Scorecard performance in 2013 – a rating system that evaluates supplier performance in areas such as quality, delivery, cost, warranty and partnership – and input from the Chrysler Group senior leadership.

This year, the event took place at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where 3,000 supplier representatives met with Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat S.p.A. executives.
