Storm Damage Assessment Software Now iOS Compatible

AUSTIN, Texas – Aug. 2014 – GeoSpatial Innovations, Inc. (GSI) announced today that its storm damage assessment software, GSI Scout, is now supported on iPhones and iPads through a native iOS application. Users can log-in using a variety of mobile devices they may already own, streamlining their business process and cutting costs.

GSI Scout, a module of GSI AssetManager suite, allows assessors and patrollers to record equipment damage and restoration requirements in the field. It sends the assessment data to dispatchers without radio traffic and assists all stakeholders with seamless communication for optimal service restoration.

"Mutual assistant contractors will be able to use any Windows or Apple devices they have on hand, making all their restoration efforts easier," Carl Livingood, President of GSI, says. "I am asked often by customers when they will be able to use their iPhone or iPad. Now it’s possible."

The GSI Scout iOS application allows users to collect information in a disconnected mode and synchronize data in the cloud when an internet connection becomes available. It includes base map information that displays the user’s current location and the location of incidents that have been assigned to the user.

“This native application has rich viewing and editing capabilities with several quick action functions,” Michael Hamsa, Chief Technology Officer of GSI, stated. “This provides a familiar and friendly interface for users accustomed to the iOS environment.”
