Sep 11, 2014 -- Experts in spatial data and map quality now have until 30 September to submit abstracts for an international workshop to be held in Malta from 20 to 21 January 2015.
Organisers have extended the deadline to allow as many people as possible to contribute to the two-day event at the Old University, Valletta, Malta . The workshop is supported by EuroGeographics Quality Knowledge Exchange Group, the European Location Framework (ELF) Project, International Organization for Standardisation (ISO), OGC, EuroSDR and the International Cartographic Association.
Antti Jakobsson, Chair of the programme committee says: “We are delighted to announce the addition of the ICA as a co-organiser for this exciting workshop. Collaboration is key to finding common solutions for spatial data quality and this event will focus on the collaborative efforts of the public sector, industry, academia and standardization communities to introduce practical solutions for quality assurance and management.”
The workshop will also include an update on the data quality validation service being delivered by the ELF project. Participants will also investigate the need for the further development and application of the metadata and quality standards created by ISO TC 211.
Papers are invited on a range of topics including quality evaluation, certification and standards. Abstracts should be between 500 and 1000 words and submitted by 30 September 2014.
