Exprodat GIS Software Increases Exploration Success

Sep 25, 2014 -- Exprodat, the oil and gas GIS services, software and training supplier, has released a new version of Exploration Analyst, its popular and widely used petroleum exploration and new ventures software.

Exploration Analyst version v221, to be released in October 2014, includes a host of new features, all of which were included to increase the efficiency and accuracy of exploration decisions.

While providing powerful analytical tools the new release maintains the simple-to-use ethos that made previous versions a success with exploration geoscientists, who can now quickly create even better looking play chance maps and more easily run complex resource and acreage analyses.

Talking about this release, Exprodat’s technical director Chris Jepps explained more about how Exploration Analyst will transform the way E&P staff perform play based exploration; “The new release of Exploration Analyst will support your exploration efforts, regardless of the in-house process you’ve defined or adopted. Exploration Analyst at v221 delivers new analysis and interpretation tools for estimating yet-to-find resource volumes, mapping gross depositional environments, and analysing historical basin/play activity, among others.

As with all our products, Exploration Analyst is designed for simplicity – it’s very easy to use and completely data agnostic, so that you can combine in-house and commercial data, in order to come up with a better answer than your competition.

Exploration Analyst is specifically designed to harness the power of Esri’s ArcGIS platform and focus it for use in oil and gas exploration departments, where users are able to make better decisions through the application of play based exploration workflows.
