Deadline: November 15, 2014
Oct 30, 2014 -- SPAR International is a technology-neutral exhibition and conference on 3D technologies for surveyors, engineers, facilities managers, asset owners and other stakeholders. Conference programming covers end-to-end 3D from data capture to deliverables including considerations for information dissemination across the organization. SPAR content will examine how 3D technologies are applied in a range of applications including engineering, construction, operations & facility management, infrastructure, manufacturing and security.
New for 2015!
Conference content will be divided by audience segment. Abstracts should reflect a technical, business or introductory focus based on the following. The organizers invite any interested parties to submit an abstract online by November 15th here.
Please classify your abstract according to the appropriate audience.
1. Technical Track
Content is geared toward advanced topics for the experienced 3D professional. Sessions will explore "HOW" considerations of advanced tools and techniques.
2. Business Track
Content focuses on building the case for using 3D technologies. Sessions explore "WHY" considerations of project and asset managers.
3. Introduction to 3D Tools
Sessions will be added in 2015 to address the needs of surveyors interested in exploring 3D tools. According to industry research, many surveyors still prefer traditional tools. 92% use total stations; 82% use GPS/GNSS; only 34% use 3D tools. At the same time, 61% say demand for 3D services is increasing.
SPAR International conference programming covers the full spectrum of available capture technologies including: laser scanning, LiDAR, photogrammetry and structured light for static, mobile, airborne and handheld devices. Processing topics include exploration of processing software, data management systems, cloud-based applications and open source. Discussion of deliverables includes visualization tools, immersive environments and data sharing across stakeholder groups.
The SPAR International Advisory Board will review each abstract and the final program will be announced in January, 2015.
