PLM International Research Foundation calls Global Research Meeting in Brussels, January 2015

Oxford, England. December 02, 2014 -- The initiative to establish a new PLM International Research Foundation has received support from almost 30 countries, and has identified over 20 different research themes that could transform the future of advanced PLM.

More than 50 organisations worldwide have been involved in the Proposal, and there now needs to be a round-table meeting to enable a face-to-face discussion about the issues and practicalities.

The PLM-IRF will therefore hold an open Launch Meeting in Brussels, Belgium on 27-28 January 2015. Registration for the Launch Meeting is now open.

The objectives of the Launch Meeting are:-
  • to review the need for, and potential of, an independent PLM research foundation
  • to present the progress made by the PLM-IRF so far, including the results of the 2014 Survey
  • to define the parameters of 'Advanced PLM Research'
  • to debate the scope, structure and remit of the PLM-IRF
  • to review funding mechanisms
  • to establish the development path for 2015
  • to prepare for next steps, including follow-on meetings and the formation of a Steering Group
The Agenda includes keynotes from the European Commission and from industry, and covers all of the aims and proposed structure of the new Foundation.

This will be an entirely open meeting, for PLM practitioners from any type of organisation, and from any country in the world. The aim is to capture the views and expertise of everyone who wants to shape the way that PLM might look in 10 or 20 years' time.

There are full details about the PLM-IRF and the Launch Meeting on the PLMIG web site; and you can request more information via Email Contact.
