Aldec Extends DOORS® Traceability to FPGA/SoC Designs with Spec-TRACER™

HENDERSON, Nev. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — December 10, 2014Aldec, Inc., today announces the latest release of its requirements lifecycle management solution for FPGAs/SoCs, Spec-TRACER™ 2014.12. This release delivers direct integration with IBM® Rational® DOORS®, allowing board requirements and attributes in DOORS to be imported directly into the Spec-TRACER database. FPGA-related elements managed and generated in Spec-TRACER, such as FPGA requirements, HDL design and testbench tags, traceability data, test cases, log files, waveforms, code coverage results and more, can also be exported back to the DOORS database.

“Organizations developing safety and mission-critical FPGAs/SoCs using DOORS have had a long known problem at hand – there is disconnect in the traceability and tool flow,” said Louie De Luna, DO-254 Program Manager. “The new Spec-TRACER and DOORS direct integration bridges the traceability gap and provides the system engineers, project managers, program managers who are proficient in DOORS visibility to the critical data that pertains to the FPGA.”
