NVBOTS Unveils 3D Printable Curricula Based on Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards

3D Printing Innovator Also Announces First Wave of 3D Printer Donations to Citizen Schools from Recent Fundable Campaign

BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — January 21, 2015NVBOTS, creator of the world’s first fully-automated 3D printer, today announced the release of the NV Library, lesson plans that incorporate 3D printable components. Designed to help educators easily integrate 3D Printing into the classroom, the lessons are written in line with the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. In addition, further reinforcing its dedication to help educators, NVBOTS has shipped its first NVPro printer to Citizen Schools, financed from the company’s recent Fundable Rewards campaign.

“Our dedication to inspiring students through 3D printing is unmatched in the industry and we are passionate about weaving 3D Printing into the fabric of learning experiences everywhere,” said CEO AJ Perez. “The release of the NV Library and the Citizen Schools milestone are just two examples of our commitment to education. 3D printing is motivating the next generation of innovators to create in ways never before thought possible and we are proud to serve as a catalyst in this area.”

As part of this initiative, NVBOTS is releasing several educational modules. Examples include:

  • A Spectroscope Project: As part of this module, students learn about the nature of light. The spectroscope allows students to separate and observe the component wavelengths of light arising from various sources.
  • A Rube Goldberg Machine Project: With this module, students use simple machines, designed by themselves and some by NVBOTS, to build their own Rube Goldberg Machine (with 3D printable components).
  • A 3D Design Project: Students using this module learn how to design, enabling them to bring their own ideas to life with the assistance of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software.

Each educational module is part of the NVBOTS easy-to-use and easy-to-share 3D printing experience, based on the NVPro, the first end-to-end 3D printing solution with automated part removal. Paired with the NVBOTS cloud-based interface, the NVPro runs continuously, 24-7 from any device.

NVPro Printer Donation to Citizen Schools

As part of the company’s recent Fundable Rewards campaign, NVBOTS will be donating the first of many NVPro printers to Citizen Schools, a non-profit organization that has already benefited from the NVBOTS experience, citing the 3D printer’s impact in dramatically improving student efficacy rates.

“At Citizen Schools, we believe students need to be inspired by science in their most formative years, making STEM education a priority for us,” said Carolyn Roscoe, director of Civic Engagement for Citizen Schools. “Integration of the NVPro printer into our classroom has already proven to make a very positive impact on our students and we are thrilled to receive additional printers from NVBOTS.”
