Alsbridge Launches Robotics Advisory Practice

Response to Surging Demand for Insight into Service Delivery Impact and Provider Capabilities

DALLAS, Jan. 26, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —  Alsbridge Inc., a benchmarking, sourcing and transformation advisory firm, today announced the launch of a new advisory service line focused on the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) market.

"RPA is emerging as an area of keen interest for both enterprise buyers and the service provider community," said Chip Wagner, CEO of Alsbridge. "Over the past year, we have invested in augmenting our tools, methodologies, information databases and subject matter expertise in this emerging space.  Our new RPA advisory practice will give buy-side clients insight into the potential benefits of smart machines and a deeper understanding of the implications of RPA for delivery models. Service providers, meanwhile, are seeking direction on pricing, business requirements and go-to-market strategies."

Gartner estimates that, by 2017, autonomics and RPA will drive a 60% reduction in the cost of many IT services, primarily through automating repetitive tasks currently performed by humans. Potential applications of RPA solutions include traditionally labor intensive areas such as service desks and customer care centers, as well as a broader range of functions in IT operations, such as network, storage, server and application management, database administration, virtual machine provisioning, process orchestration and teleconferencing.

RPA benefits for buy-side enterprises are expected to include reduced costs, lower error rates and the ability to scale up and down rapidly based on fluctuating business demands. For service providers, RPA represents an opportunity to leverage headcount reduction, reduce delivery costs and improve margins and productivity.  Decreased demand for labor resources can enable providers to reduce recruitment and training costs, and deliver the same volume and quality of client services with fewer personnel.

"RPA represents a critical emerging trend and a significant opportunity for Alsbridge," said Wagner. "Through the combination of our established tools, databases and methodologies, coupled with our ongoing commitment to respond to new business demands and opportunities, we are confident that we are uniquely positioned to help clients navigate their RPA options, as well as guide providers seeking to identify opportunities and articulate their value proposition."

Derek Toone, a ten-year veteran of the firm, spearheaded much of the work and investment involved in enhancing Alsbridge's RPA capabilities and will lead the new service line.

"The RPA market is still immature with a variety of players, delivery models and pricing structures," said Toone.  "Alsbridge has always stayed at the forefront of market innovations to optimize outcomes and mitigate risk for our clients. We look forward to providing the insights and unbiased advice necessary to successfully leverage RPA to optimal benefit."
