SCHAUMBURG, ILLINOIS, Jan 30, 2015 -- After many years of delivering educational seminars locally across North America the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI) is announcing a greatly expanded “blended Learning” library with the launch of several new state-of-the-art continuing education programs available on multiple desktop, mobile and local platforms for design and construction professionals. These new resources include:
- INTERACTIVE WEBINARS are now providing technical seminars of current interest that permit learners to question presenters in an engaging and interactive format. The first two in the series, delivered recently, presented technical guidance on “Voided Slabs–New Trends and Vibrations of Steel Reinforced Concrete Floor Systems (held live in December, 2014 and January 2015 respectively). Upcoming programs throughout the year will address other popular topics of interest to designers and builders of reinforced concrete structures.
- CRSI WEBINAR ARCHIVE makes our live webinar content, including Q&A exchanges, available for 24/7/365 for convenient and extended viewing. CRSI’s first two courses became available in the archive section within days of the live broadcast session and will remain available for a minimum of one year.
- ONLINE COURSES provide self-paced learning on a wide range of topics including reinforced concrete basics and best practice sessions sought after by owners, architects engineers, contractors and colleges. Seven new courses will launch this spring with others to be developed based upon audience demand.
- REGIONAL SEMINARS, delivered by CRSI Region Professionals, bring “Hot Topics” to local offices, jobsites and professional association events.
CRSI is a registered AIA Education Provider and all of these webinars and online courses offer continuing education credit to meet the needs of professionals in architecture, engineering and construction. Detailed information on the growing list of webinars and continuing education courses can be found by visiting the institute homepage at www.crsi.org
In addition, CRSI’s new ONLINE DETAILER TRAINING COURSE now provides, as a member-exclusive benefit, reinforcing fabricators with more than 40 hours of job-specific detailer training as a reliable foundation for this important role in the reinforcing steel industry. CRSI’s new Detailer Training course addresses a need within the industry for proper education and training of personnel in a crucial position in the design and construction of reinforced concrete structures. With properly trained professionals in the reinforcing bar detailer position, costly errors can be averted and projects can proceed without delay.
The Detailer Training Program teaches participants about key people, project requirements and deliverables, provides an introduction to industry terminology and standards, and prepares trainees for a successful detailing career. CRSI’s Detailer Training Program is designed to train and retain efficient reinforcing steel detailers in Member’s fabrication shops. Membership with Fabricator classification in CRSI is required; please contact CRSI for details.
“After many years of following the seminar model, CRSI is breaking new ground by offering our industry-specific, expert knowledge in on-line learning modules. This allows learners to access CRSI’s information by attending traditional seminars conducted by region staff as well as viewing educational modules completely at their own convenience.” states Bob Risser, President and CEO of the Concrete Reinforcing Institute, “We’re also very excited to offer the revised and upgraded CRSI Detailer Training Program on-line as a benefit to fabricator members. With it’s upgraded content, there is simply nothing like it currently available in the marketplace. We see it as important value of membership in CRSI.”
