Renesas Electronics America Expands Educational Program With Online Courses for Embedded Designers and Developers

Renesas DevCon Extension Online Courses Offer Engineers Training, Tips for Enhancing System Designs and Reducing Development Challenges

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 12, 2015 — Renesas Electronics America, a premier provider of advanced semiconductor solutions, today announced it is bringing its popular Renesas DevCon Extension program online for a limited time. The educational courses will provide participants with training on working with the latest hardware and software solutions and services from Renesas and its technology partners, to enhance embedded system designs and overcome development obstacles. Registration is currently open at: RenesasDevCon.com.

In 2014, as an extension to Renesas’ Developers Conference, Renesas Electronics and its partners held a series of educational seminars across North and South America – the Renesas DevCon Extension program – to provide convenient access to powerful, short courses and laboratory sessions with updated data necessary to develop enhanced products. By providing online access to the DevCon Extension seminars, participants will have instant access to courses and sessions that directly address issues impacting their current and future projects. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about an exciting range of sensible, cost-effective design and development solutions that are available from Renesas and its partners.

Renesas DevCon Extension Online will feature two options: An “on-demand” course and “live” webinars. The basic, “on-demand” courses will roll out through June 2015. The “live” webinars will feature industry expert-led discussions on three topic tracks:

  • RTOS and Middleware: This session starts today and highlights techniques, tools and solutions available while designing complex embedded system products that require higher performance requirements.
  • Human Machine Interface (HMI): The HMI seminar begins at the end of March and will spotlight hardware and software for designers that are implementing cost-effective, engaging and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Low Power and Connectivity: This session is available starting in mid-May and will take a deeper look at Renesas’ low-power MCU solutions available for designers that are looking to achieve higher power efficiency.

The Renesas DevCon Extension Online courses will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week starting today through June 2015. Partners such as Micrium, IAR Systems, ExpressLogic, Exosite, GainSpan, Serious and EM MicroElectronic will join Renesas Electronics in each course.
