Mar 2, 2015 -- On Tuesday, the conference will be opened by the plenary keynote speakers Geneviève Fioraso, secrétaire d'Etat chargée de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (to be confirmed), EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Günther H. Oettingerto talk about European Microelectronics Strategy and Jean Marc Chery, Chief Operating Officer of STMicroelectronics, who will talk about ”ST technologies fully addressing Internet of Things applications from LP Digital to RF-CMOS, eNVM and sensors“.
On the same day, a keynote session sponsored by Mentor Graphics is organized during lunchtime. Moreover, the Executive Track offers a series of business panels discussing hot topics. Executive speakers from companies leading the design and automation industry will address some of the complexity issues in electronics design and discuss about advanced technology challenges and opportunities.
The distinctive highlights of DATE 2015 are the two special days:
“Designing Electronics for the Internet of Things (IoT)” on Wednesday, and
“Designing Electronics for Medical Applications” on Thursday, each giving a comprehensive overview regarding both themes, ranging from innovations and applications of latest technologies to the analysis of upcoming electronic design automation (EDA) research challenges.
The
keynote speakers on Wednesday comprise Wolfgang Wahlster (German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, DE) to talk about about “Industrie 4.0: From the Internet of Things to Cyber-Physical Production Systems” and Antun Domic (Synopsys, US) who will analyze “The Rise of IoT, and the Role of EDA”.
On Thursday, the keynote speaker Kristoffer Famm (GlaxoSmithKline, GB) is going to talk about "Bio electronic Medicines - Heralding in a New Therapeutic Approach”.
The full conference programme including 10 in-depth tutorials on March 09, the regular conference from March 10 to 12, and ten parallel Friday Workshops on March 13, 2015, is available at http://www.date-conference.com/conference/event-overview
Exhibition
The DATE 2015 Exhibition will run for three days from Tuesday, March 10 until Thursday, March 12, 2015, in the entrance foyer of the Alpexpo congress centre. The spacious area is directly connected to the session rooms and also hosts the coffee break and poster area. The exhibition again offers a comprehensive overview of commercial design and verification tools as well as abundant networking possibilities. It will feature suppliers of development tools and platforms for hardware and software development, showing a range of products from the front-end to back-end chip design through silicon test, manufacturing, and system architecture to embedded software implementation and networking. Moreover,
European Projects will be represented at a joint booth space in the heart of the exhibition area.

Exhibition Theatre features Hot Topics, best practice, panels and an Exhibition keynote
The Exhibition Theatre is located in Room Les diguières, which is within the exhibition hall and affords easy access for exhibition visitors as well as for conference delegates. Attendees will profit from having an industry forum in the midst of Europe’s leading electronic systems design event. Like in previous years, selected open Special Conference Sessions will take place in the Exhibition Theatre. This includes an executive panel session (The Future of Electronics, Semiconductor, and Design in Europe) and three hot topic sessions (Design Methodologies for a Cyber-Physical Systems Approach to Personalized Medicine-on-a-Chip; The next generation of virtual prototyping: Ultra-fast yet accurate simulation of HW/SW systems; Monolithic 3D: A Path to Real 3D Integrated Chips). In seven special Exhibition Theatre sessions, the DATE 2015 exhibition will highlight an Exhibition Keynote from MathWorks, three Exhibition Panels (on FDSIO Technology, presented by STMicroelectronics and partners; on IP Management presented by Design & Reuse and a panel presented by MathWorks), two Best Practice sessions (on Interdisciplinary Research, presented by Cadence Academic Network; on Multi Project Wafers, presented by CMP and IMEC) and a Tutorial by MathWorks.
Entrance to the exhibition is free of charge. All exhibition programme sessions in the exhibition theatre can be attended with a free-of-charge exhibition visitor registration; a conference registration is not required.
