Digital River Integrates with Adobe Experience Manager

Combination empowers marketers to transform digital marketing and media channels into powerful digital storefronts

MINNEAPOLIS — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 9, 2015Digital River, Inc., a leading global provider of Commerce-as-a-Service solutions, announced that it has integrated its cloud-based Global Commerce platform with Adobe Experience Manager, Adobe’s market-leading digital experience management solution. The combination, which utilizes Adobe’s eCommerce Integration Framework to bring together best-of-breed commerce and content management technologies, is designed to give marketers the ability to easily create and transform digital marketing and media channels into powerful digital storefronts.

Adobe Experience Manager customers can now access Digital River’s Global Commerce platform via the Adobe Marketing Cloud Exchange, an online marketplace that features integrated partner extensions. Digital River has been powering online storefronts since 1994 and today supports thousands of merchants, conducting business in more than 240 countries and territories. Digital River’s commerce solution is built on the company’s Commerce Business Infrastructure, which helps merchants break down barriers to entry and reduce the risks associated with international payment processing, tax and regulatory compliance, fraud, global fulfillment and other complex commerce operations.

“Our partnership with Adobe and the integration between these leading solutions offers companies an immediate opportunity to impact their global online sales,” said Thomas Peterson, executive vice president and general manager of commerce at Digital River. “The new technology combination empowers marketers to create world-class digital shopping experiences across key consumer touch points while accelerating time-to-market and mitigating the risks associated with international commerce.”

According to a recent study commissioned by Digital River and conducted by Forrester Consulting, companies have aggressive expectations for generating revenue from international expansion. Nearly 70 percent of respondents consider international expansion a critical or high priority in the next 12 months. Eighty-two percent of respondents reported that an acceptable timeframe to launch ecommerce in a new country, from funding to revenue generation, is within 12 months. The study included 130 U.S. and U.K. ecommerce decision makers.

When building a global online business, companies selling abroad must contend with unique shopping patterns across regions. “Accessing foreign markets and unlocking the lucrative cross-border commerce opportunity requires the ability to respond to regional shopping behaviors,” said Errol Denger, director of commerce strategy at Adobe. “Adobe experience-driven commerce, together with Digital River, enables brands to address this complexity and improve business results by delivering highly localized, optimized and immersive shopping experiences.”

“Digital commerce is increasingly vital to cost-effectively reaching new markets,” said Gage Short, vice president of technology and alliances from Rauxa, an independent, full-service marketing agency. “We’re excited about the opportunity to offer access to Digital River’s commerce platform through Adobe Experience Manager. Together, we can help merchants add international commerce capabilities to their Web properties and speed time to revenue.”
