Panzura Reports Record Growth, Expansion Into Manufacturing

CAMPBELL, CA -- (Marketwired) -- Mar 20, 2015 -- Panzura, the pioneer of next generation enterprise storage infrastructure for the cloud era, today announced a record-breaking quarter in Q4 2014, a record-breaking year in 2014, and massive financial growth in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry leading to an expansion into the manufacturing industry. Panzura's 1100 percent year over year AEC sales growth and 840 percent year over year AEC customer growth is a result of being the only proven global file locking solution that solves cross-site collaboration issues of applications like Revit, AutoCAD, Civil3D, and Bentley MicroStation.

Meeting similar industry needs for cross-site collaboration issues with Manufacturing CAD applications, Panzura is expanding its presence into the Manufacturing industry. Manufacturing customer Milwaukee Electric Tool immediately experienced the benefits of Panzura's revolutionary global locking file system with its SOLIDWORKS CAD and Siemens NX PLM applications. Milwaukee's cross-continent CAD file open times were reduced from 40 minutes to mere seconds, while a high frame rate per second video transfers were reduced from 6 hours to 20 seconds.

The company's continued growth can also be attributed to the industry's desire to take advantage of the scale, economics and lights-out management provided by cloud storage. Beyond the focus on the AEC and manufacturing industries, 45 percent of sales for 2014 were from customers seeking to consolidate much of their IT infrastructure into the cloud and replace on-premises storage and WAN optimization.

"This past year was truly a banner year for our company. With the focus on the AEC market, we've been able to provide our customers with the proven and patented global element locking technology to handle multiple users and many different sites, all to make collaboration feel as if users are sitting next each other instead of on different continents," said Randy Chou, co-founder and CEO of Panzura. "Panzura's experience in the AEC industry has enabled us to address the same needs in other verticals and our success in manufacturing is just taking off. We expect to see more companies embrace our technology and overcome massive geographical challenges."

"Panzura was the only solution that met all of our requirements. We had to have fast access for files being replicated, and shared data integrity -- which meant really strong global file locking so that if opened a file in China, it was immediately locked across the entire globe on every appliance," said Alan Musser, supervisor, systems engineering at Milwaukee Electric Tool. "Before Panzura, one of our engineers once spent more than an hour to download a small 82 megabyte video. When Panzura was installed, he downloaded that same video and was able to view the file instantly. He told me it just 'flew off' the Panzura."

In addition to its significant customer wins, Panzura increased its employee count by 40 percent since the beginning of 2014, added storage industry veteran Flavio Santoni as Chief Revenue Officer, and introduced element locking, the next generation of file locking.
