New BuildingDNA COO Brings Volume Production Expertise to Building Map Creation

DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- Mar 26, 2015 -- BuildingDNA ( www.buildingdna.co), developer of the BuildingDNA™ dynamic mapping platform for Smart Buildings and Emergency Preparedness, announced today that it continues to build an unrivaled leadership team, adding product success expert Walt Sulmeisters. As COO, Walt is leading the "Foundry" -- BuildingDNA's digital building map production division and the foundation for the company's software offering. Walt is evolving the Foundry into a streamlined, highly efficient process to digitize any building's footprint and critical particulars, establishing production capacity sufficient to meet ramping customer demand.

Walt has demonstrated success at every phase of the product life-cycle, for some of the largest brands in the world. As VP of Brand Management for Domino's Pizza he was a key driver of record sales, profitability and share price. With ConAgra Walt was Director of Marketing Development for 26 independently branded companies, each with at least $100 million in revenue. Prior to that position, he excelled in various corporate development leadership roles for ConAgra's Banquet Meals Group, Specialty Brands Group and Healthy Choice Meals brand, consistently achieving and exceeding profit and market share objectives.

Walt transitioned to ConAgra from private label production company Blue Star Foods. At Blue Star Walt was responsible for converting the Marie Calendar restaurant menu into a mass-produced, consistently-crafted national consumer product. He restructured Blue Star for it to be acquired by ConAgra, and once within their portfolio he achieved over $2.8 million in operating savings, evolving the business into a contract manufacturer for ConAgra. With Blue Star Walt acquired and started up over $20 million of new business.

Walt has been an adjunct university professor since 1988, including the last nine years at Regis University in Denver. In this role in the school's graduate IT program, he teaches a course designed to bridge the gap between IT professionals and the physical world -- where products must still be resourced, manufactured and distributed.

Walt received a Master of Management with Distinction from The Kellogg School at Northwestern University.

"BuildingDNA is an interesting hybrid -- we are a dynamic software company with a manufacturing heart," stated BuildingDNA President and Founder Glenn Morris. "Our interactive, sensor-integrated maps are the foundation of our offering. To create them we must process wildly variable physical input (building plans) and convert them to consistently high quality digital products -- and do it at a scale that can accommodate customers whose building counts could numbers in the thousands.

"On multiple occasions Walt has taken a 'job shop' (like ours has historically been), and quickly evolved into an efficient machine that can readily meet national and even international demand. His unique skillset is ideal for business model; though we exist in the digital world, we must operate in some ways like a brick and mortal manufacturer. With our new Foundry Walt is establishing a high capacity standard, and creating for BuildingDNA a distinct competitive mapping advantage."
