TOKYO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 30, 2015 — OKI (TOKYO:6703) today announces that, on March 26, OKI has signed an agreement with Yokogawa Electric Corporation on the transfer of Ome Factory of Yokogawa Manufacturing Corporation, a plant of printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly, to OKI Printed Circuits, an OKI Group company responsible for OKI's printed circuit board business, effective April 1. The printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly at Ome Factory for Yokogawa Electronic Corporation will be transferred to OKI and continuously manufactured at the factory.

Meanwhile, Yokogawa Manufacturing Corporation and OKI concluded an agreement on the transfer of overall printed circuit board assembly and part of apparatus assembly in Yokogawa Manufacturing Corporation’s Kofu Factory. Thereafter, OKI is entrusted from Yokogawa Electronic Corporation the full amount of printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly in Japan while enabling increase in production capability of printed circuit boards by 20% that leads OKI’s electronic manufacturing services (EMS) business expansion.

Launched in 1965, OKI's printed circuit board business has won renown for its large, multilayer boards based on its prominent technologies, including the world's first 102-layer printed circuit board. To expand its EMS business, OKI faces the need both to expand its printed circuit board business and to further enrich its integrated production system, OKI’s advantage in EMS business, ranging from printed circuit boards through assembly of final products.

Since launching its printed circuit board manufacturing in 1969, Yokogawa Electronic Corporation has manufactured a wide range of printed circuit boards for in-house control and measurement instruments with high-reliability at Ome Factory, which is the only domestic production site.

In response to continuous facility investment and significant technological progress in printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly, Yokogawa Electronic Corporation had recently been repositioning its printed circuit board business while moving forward with business structural reforms.
