Canadian government awards BCIP contract to CubeWerx for imagery services

Gatineau, May 29, 2015 - CubeWerx announced today that it has received a Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP) contract for deploying its new  OpenImageMap Platform at the Department of National Defence (DND). Under this contract, CubeWerx innovations will be tested by DND for publishing and managing large volumes of satellite and aerial imagery in the Defense Wide Area Network (DWAN) infrastructure. This technology will integrate with DND’s GDS image archives and provide access to 200 TB of imagery through CubeWerx OGC-compliant web mapping and image data services.

CubeWerx technology will help the department by: a) directly supporting DND’s mission to provide access to authoritative, relevant and accurate geospatial imagery holdings via lightweight web services; and b) providing internal imagery services in support of DND’s national and international geospatial data production.

CubeWerx OpenImageMap platform innovates by offering a collaborative framework that scales to meet the most demanding requirements for performance, collaborative mapping, and on-line data currency. The primary beneficiaries of CubeWerx products are image providers of all types and sizes, large and small. The efficiency of the technology, combined with an aggressive pricing structure makes the product affordable by a wide range of organizations.

“At CubeWerx, we are pleased by the opportunity offered  by the government’s BCIP program to introduce innovative technology into the federal government, help us bridge the pre-commercialization gap and test late-stage innovative goods and services,” said Edric Keighan President and CEO of CubeWerx Inc.
