DUBLIN & SAN JOSE, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — June 8, 2015 — S3 Group, a global independent supplier of Mixed-Signal IP and tailored silicon solutions to semiconductor vendors, OEMs and service operators, today launched the industry’s smallest, most-efficient 320MS/s SAR-ADC (successive approximation register analog-to-digital converter). The product is the second in the family of SAR ADCs being developed by the company specifically optimized for next generation connected consumer Systems on Chip (SoCs).

Part of the Magellan family of ADCs from S3 Group, this 320MS/s 12bit ADC targets highly integrated SoCs, such as those requiring next generation 802.11ac leading to 802.11ax connectivity in addition to next generation DSL connectivity. Available in 40nm and 28nm this convertor delivers excellent dynamic linearity performance, whilst consuming as little as 10mW and occupying only 0.05mm2 of silicon.
