Plexxi Partners with CloudGov Technologies to Increase Agility and Scalability of U.S. Government Agency and Commercial Data Center Networks

Partnership Enables Federal Agencies to Implement 3rd Platform Technologies to Accelerate Mission Goals and Eliminate Scaling Problems of Legacy Data Center Network Architectures

NASHUA, N.H., June 10, 2015 — (PRNewswire) —   Plexxi, a pioneer of next-generation networking products, today announced a partnership with CloudGov Technologies, a 3rd Platform IT Solutions provider helping government and commercial markets address the increasing need for scalable, agile and distributed data center networks built for 3rd Platform computing workloads such as big data analytics and dynamic cloud environments.

The partnership allows CloudGov Technologies to distribute Plexxi's hardware and software offerings, Plexxi Switch and Plexxi Control, as part of their solutions portfolio. Plexxi's products and solutions are built for agile data centers, scale-out applications and distributed cloud environments creating secure networks across multiple locations managed from one central interface. As a result of the partnership, the companies announced that a large U.S. government agency has recently deployed Plexxi to automate the provisioning and deployment of more than 30,000 virtual desktops with minimal administration. The deployment significantly improves application user experience and performance by optimizing the flow of east-west traffic across its virtualized data center.

"We are at the dawn of a new era of computing that requires a fundamental change in architecture built specifically for scale-out applications and data center agility," said Mike Gregory, Founder and CEO of CloudGov Technologies. "We are thrilled to partner with Plexxi and align with their market leading vision and partner-friendly culture. The 3rd Platform approach enables very high utilization of network capacity at linear scale and offers true value in terms of agility, automation, performance, and tremendous cost savings, which traditional leaf-spine layers cannot provide. Due to massive data growth, application scale, and increased user demand, our customers require an automated and secure network solution with predictable performance and cost that scales non-disruptively."

"Many federal agencies are being tasked with building large-scale, dense, virtualized environments to keep up with the rapid flow of information they need to process," said Tim Lieto, Senior Vice President of Sales and Support at Plexxi. "Plexxi's approach to creating next-generation 3rd Platform networks that support increasing demands while providing high-performance and long-term cost savings are a perfect fit for the federal marketplace. Partnering with CloudGov will make Plexxi's technologies more readily accessible to a market that is in need of our solutions."

The two companies announced that they will be showcasing their 3rd Platform solution offering at the upcoming AFCEA Defensive Cyber Operations Symposium in Baltimore from June 16-18 and at the GEOINT 2015 Symposium from June 22-25 in Washington, D.C.
