Avnet Electronics Marketing Releases New Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC/Analog Devices Intelligent Drives Kit II

Platform enhances flexibility and performance of earlier Intelligent Drives Kit

PHOENIX — (BUSINESS WIRE) — August 3, 2015Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today released the new Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC/Analog Devices Intelligent Drives Kit II. The kit is designed to provide a flexible platform for motor control and industrial networking development in sectors including industrial automation, smart energy, medical and embedded systems. This evolution of the original Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC/Analog Devices Intelligent Drives Kit offers enhanced performance features including greater precision data converters from Analog Devices, higher frequency direct drive of the H-bridge power stages and simultaneous drive of two motors, including bipolar steppers or BLDC with electronic brake.

Based on the Avnet ZedBoard, the new Zynq Intelligent Drives Kit II combines the Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC and ARM® dual-core Cortex-A9 + 28nm programmable logic with the latest generation Analog Devices high-precision data converters and digital isolation to enable high performance motor control and industrial networking connectivity. Also included is a Xilinx Zynq-7000 reference design featuring Analog Devices Linux framework to provide an ideal infrastructure for quickly adding custom control algorithms. Model-Based Design for the Xilinx Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC is supported using Simulink® in combination with C/HDL code generation using Embedded Coder® and HDL Coder from MathWorks.
