Renesas Electronics America Announces Certified Training Centers and Renesas Synergy™-Trained Independent Design Houses to Equip Customers for Design Success

Renesas Synergy-Trained IDH Partners Demonstrate IoT Solutions at Renesas DevCon

ANAHEIM, Calif. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — October 13, 2015RENESAS DEVCON — At Renesas DevCon this week, Renesas Electronics America announced expansion of its Alliance Partner Program to include new training and education resources for its customers. With new “Renesas Synergy™-Trained” independent design house (IDH) partners and new Certified Training Centers (CTCs), Renesas customers have expanded access to design resources and product training.

“The purpose of the Alliance Partner Program is to connect Renesas, its partners, and customers as easily as possible to allow for fast development of new products and a full range of support,” said Vin D’Agostino, Vice President, General Purpose Unit, Renesas Electronics America. “With access to expanded education and training options, including new Renesas Synergy-Trained IDH partners, customers will be able to adopt innovative and reliable Renesas technologies with confidence.”

Renesas Synergy-Trained Independent Design Houses

Introduced in June 2015, the Renesas Synergy Platform is an easy-to-use platform that integrates qualified software with a new family of microcontrollers (MCUs) and an ecosystem of tools and support options into one scalable and secure platform. It is designed to accelerate time to market, reduce total cost of ownership, and remove many of the barriers to entry that engineers face when developing connected products. The Renesas Synergy Platform lets embedded systems engineers start product development at the API level, giving them more time to design innovative and differentiated features.

According to John C. McCarthy, Vice President and Principal Analyst, Forrester Research, “While smart connected product rollouts gain momentum, firms still face an array of technological barriers around connectivity, data management, and security as well as business strategy, organizational cohesiveness, and assembling all the skill sets needed to design and sell connected services to customers.”

The new Renesas Synergy-Trained IDH partners have received comprehensive training on the Renesas Synergy Platform and can leverage their specialized expertise in critical IoT design areas like cloud, security, and connectivity to help customers create innovative designs, port legacy software to the Renesas Synergy Platform and ultimately accelerate time to market. The first IDH Partners chosen for the Renesas Synergy-Trained certification are: Avid Technologies, bb7, DeviceLab, EPD, HWI, MicroLabo, NPE, RPA, Xaplos, and Zephyr Engineering.

These companies have been working with the Renesas Synergy Platform since before launch to quickly develop IoT-enabled products featuring the easy-to-use, intuitive platform. These products will be demonstrated at the Renesas DevCon this week in Anaheim, Calif. In addition, many of these partners will provide training sessions and participate in panels at the conference.

Renesas Certified Training Centers

Renesas has added a new level of certification for its IDH partners who can provide hands-on training classes to support Renesas device and platform customers. The first two IDH members of the CTC program are HWI and BNS. Ideal CTC partner candidates are existing Alliance Partner Program members who have demonstrated a passion for teaching other engineers. The CTC partners receive special, hands-on instruction, custom training materials, and priority field and factory support from Renesas. The CTC partner facilities will also feature a dedicated Renesas design lab that is available by appointment to Renesas customers who need design assistance and/or access to specialized design equipment. The first CTC training courses are scheduled to begin in December.
