"Our 3D printing ecosystem gives educators a unique opportunity to integrate science, technology, art and engineering in the classroom," says Steve Schell, CEO and co-founder of New Matter. "Many teachers who use 3D printers in their classrooms say they often run into a bottleneck from having too many student projects to print, but not enough printers to print them all. Because of the affordability of the MOD-t, it is now possible for schools to have multiple printers in their classroom to print more student work, faster."

The MOD-t was created with educators in mind, and is ideal for classroom use. One of the quietest desktop 3D printers available, the MOD-t can easily live in a classroom or library without causing disruption. Furthermore, the MOD-t automatically calibrates, so teachers can focus their attention to instruction, rather than configuring settings.

"Since our launch, we have been eager and excited to launch meaningful education programs and partnerships to give students access to 3D printing at school," continues Schell. "New Matter's ecosystem was designed to be simple and efficient. We are working with educators to ensure that the MOD-t is the easiest and most intuitive 3D printer for the classroom."

New Matter will award 100 3D printing grants in the first quarter of 2016. The application process is open to schools and school districts across the U.S. Each grant will include three MOD-t 3D printers, 15 spools of filament, and 15 additional build plate surfaces. Schools, teachers and administrators can apply for the Educate and Inspire Grant by visiting: http://newmatter.com/education. The application deadline is Friday, February 5, 2016.

This week, New Matter also announced the general availability of its plug-and-play 3D printing system designed for consumers following the successful Indiegogo campaign fulfillment of over 2,000 3D printing systems. Together, the MOD-t 3D printer and the New Matter Store, an integrated online marketplace, are designed to simplify 3D printing and make it accessible to everyone.
