Juniper Systems Limited today released its newest rugged handheld computer, the Mesa 2™ Rugged Tablet, running on Microsoft’s® Windows® 10 operating system.
Birmingham, UK –
Juniper Systems Limited, a premiere rugged handheld computer manufacturer, today released its newest product, the Mesa 2™ Rugged Tablet. As the largest handheld device produced by Juniper Systems to date, the Mesa 2 is also Juniper’s first handheld to run on the Microsoft® Windows® 10 operating system, improving decision-making in the field, and smoothing the transition of field data collection to office work.
Offering the full Windows 10 operating system, the Mesa 2 provides access to a broad range of software options for data collection needs, and is powerful enough to use in place of a desktop computer. Its 7-inch display strikes a balance between an ample viewing area for collecting data and reduced overall weight for minimal user fatigue and long-term usability.
‘The Mesa 2 is in a new class relative to our other rugged devices’, said Simon Bowe, general manager at Juniper Systems Limited. ‘It features the same degree of outstanding quality and ruggedness as our other products, and the Mesa 2 offers users more software options and greater processing capabilities because it runs on Windows 10. The Mesa 2 was designed to improve productivity at every point in data collection, from initial data gathering, to later analysis, and through the decision-making process. It’s a tablet optimised for efficiency, designed to be “your office, anywhere”’.
This rugged tablet is designed to perform reliably in harsh environments, and is the only IP-68-rated rugged tablet currently available. Completely protected against water and dust ingress, it maintains its seal while the ports are in use – unlike most other tablets which are vulnerable to water and dust damage with unsecured port covers. The Mesa 2 also features Juniper Systems’ proprietary IllumiView™ display, providing complete visibility in any lighting condition, along with superior durability from the chemically-strengthened Dragontrail™ glass touch screen.
The computer's battery delivers 8 to 10 hours of runtime, allowing for maximum productivity throughout the workday. An optional expansion battery with an additional 4 to 5 hours of power is also available.
The Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet is expected to start shipping in early spring. To learn more, visit the Juniper Systems’
