Circuit Check Inc., a global services provider of test and automation solutions for electronics and electro-mechanical devices worldwide, announced a strategic acquisition of the manufacturing, sales and support rights for the TSL AFS 500 series of in-circuit board handlers from Elite Interfaces, based in Reading, England.  "The AFS series of ICT board handlers have proven a robust and reliable automated solution for board test over many years", says Neil Adams, Product Manager of Circuit Check.  "TSL and Elite Interfaces have done a remarkable job of developing and growing the printed circuit board assembly manufacturing segment".

A key to achieving maximum value from automated test equipment is a more seamless process flow on the printed circuit board production line. The AFS 500 Series In-line Handler achieves this by using Advanced Fixture Solutions a compact "cassette" style fixture with auto loading and setup. The versatile Automation Ready AR-2000 fixture uses interchangeable fixture components from the cassette to allow off- line use, so no additional investment in test hardware or software is required.

The AFS 500 Series auto setup allows the same test system to be quickly reconfigured with new fixturing for products variants, in less than three minutes, to maximize equipment re-use while minimizing down time.  Support includes the Keysight / Agilent 3070 Series 1, 2, 3, & 5 2 and 4 module systems, GR228x, GR TestStation, Teradyne TestStation LX, SE, LH, Teradyne Spectrum and Z18xx testers.

"The AFS 500 expands our test automation capabilities and will be integrated in the CCI 5000 Series of in-Line handlers introduced in August 2015.  CCI will rebrand the AFS 500 as the CCI AFS 5500. The CCI AFS 5500 will double the board size and probing capacity of the current CCI 5000 Series", says Greg Michalko, CEO of Circuit Check.

"Manufacturers worldwide compete on product production throughput and rapid time-to-market. We feel the CCI AFS 5500 answers PCBA manufacturing needs for a flexible, economical in-line automation solution, adaptable to existing tester systems, while reducing capital expenditures, maximizing line efficiencies, and improving test consistencies", commented Greg.

More about the CCI 5000 Series In-line Handler:   The CCI 5000 series allows the PCBA manufacture to easily manage their tester resource portfolio though an in-line automation controller matched to customer defined test needs for balanced ICT, Flash and Functional test. Each CCI 5000 Series In-line Handler is assembled to a customer's application needs, comprising of device-under-test (DUT) measurement instrumentation interconnects, signal types and counts, power sources, and management software. Common configurations include: Single Bay - One slide-in fixture with optional fail-discharge shoot, Double Bay - Two slide-in fixtures to support programming and test, or Triple Bay - Three slide-in fixtures to maximize line beat-rate.
