DCS Vice President Donald Jasurda to Present on Optimizing Weld Sequences at SAE 2016 World Congress and Exhibition

Donald Jasurda, Vice President of Sales at DCS, is giving the presentation Optimizing Weld Sequences of Automotive and Aerospace Structures Using CAD Based Finite Element Analysis (FEA) at SAE 2016 World Congress and Exhibition.

Troy, MI, Apr 7, 2016 -- Dimensional Control Systems’ (DCS) Vice President of Sales Donald Jasurda is presenting on the topic Optimizing Weld Sequences of Automotive and Aerospace Structures Using CAD Based Finite Element Analysis (FEA) at SAE 2016 World Congress and Exhibition April 12th – 14th at Cobo Center in the heart of Detroit, Michigan. Donald Jasurda will be giving the presentation on April 14th at 1 pm in room 313B.

SAE 2016 World Congress and Exhibition will be host to the best and brightest the automotive industry has to offer, discussing a wide spectrum of automotive engineering topics. This conference is the perfect opportunity to learn about the latest trends, innovations and ideas rising to the top of the industry, and collaborate with the innovators and professionals driving those initiatives. For anyone involved in the automotive industry, this is an event not to miss.

Donald Jasurda’s presentation will be showcasing studies and processes using advanced variation analysis tools to optimize weld and riveting sequences on automotive and aerospace structures. This process gives engineers the ability to determine the optimal order of welds, as well as the number of welds and bolts needed to support the structure. This can reduce variation from flexing and stretching of material, as well as reducing the number of operations needed on parts in the assembly plant, both reducing rework and increasing productivity.

“Variation analysis is useful for more than just testing tolerances,” said Donald Jasurda, DCS Vice President. “With advanced variation analysis tools, and using iterative design techniques, engineers can test sequences and processes to determine optimal scenarios. This can reduce the need for rework, and eliminate unnecessary welds and bolts, creating a leaner overall manufacturing process.”

Donald Jasurda and DCS will be present at booth 714 to answer questions about the presentation, and to showcase with FARO Technologies methods of combining SPC data systems and variation analysis tools to create a closed loop quality system between design and manufacturing at the plant.
