Canon launches two new large format printing systems with advanced security and productivity

Océ PlotWave 345/365 designed for technical document management and workflow

MELVILLE, N.Y., May 17, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the launch of the new Océ PlotWave 345 and Océ PlotWave 365 large format printing systems. The newest offerings from Canon are ideal for small and medium workgroups that rely on high quality documents in their workflow. Based on award-winning Océ Radiant Fusing technology, these systems save both time and energy costs with instant-on printing performance.

Canon U.S.A., Inc.

"These systems were developed with the needs of walk-up users in mind. Those who require on-demand print, copy, and scan functionality, with minimal system interaction and a high level of ease-of-use" said Toyo Kuwamura, executive vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "These users look for systems that can easily be placed and integrated into their workgroup. And with data security becoming a greater concern to organizations, the Océ PlotWave 345/365 systems offer options for advanced security features and hardening such as electronic file shredding, IPsec, a removable hard disk, and disc encryption."

Print where you want, when you want
Wherever and whatever document is needed, the Océ PlotWave systems offer instant productivity to help technical users make the most of their work day. The new systems were built to retrieve files from the cloud using a smart phone or computer, or to send a print request to the printer via Océ Publisher Mobile. Adding to the user-friendly platform, the new Océ PlotWave models make it possible to print from and scan to a folder on a user's workstation with LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) integration.

The Océ PlotWave 345/365 printing systems save valuable time and energy costs. With the ability to go from sleep mode to print in hand in less than 40 seconds, the new offerings were built with busy professionals in mind. Compared to the two to six minutes warmup needed with conventional LED printers, this can save a user an hour a day, while cutting energy costs in half. The Océ PlotWave 345/365 systems print up to 6 D-size prints per minute on a single or dual media rolls. With a multifunction option, users are able to scan or copy while printing to save even more time.

Simple, intuitive touchscreen operation
The large 10.4" Océ ClearConnect color touchscreen interface is designed to operate like a tablet or smartphone.  An easy to learn interface with simple layout with on-screen previews help users get their prints faster, without errors, even when they are stored in the cloud or have just arrived in an email on their mobile phone. Everything from document delivery and media roll placement to toner loading and print job management has been carefully designed to be ergonomically correct and intuitive.

To help safeguard intellectual property and associated documents, the new Océ PlotWave 345/365 systems offer new options to make the printing environment more secure. They provide secure login or smart card support to prevent prints from remaining on the printer where unauthorized people could potentially retrieve information. Confidential information is further protected with a Windows 8 embedded platform and the Océ POWERsync controller, supporting the latest security features.

Improve document quality
Like the entire award-winning Océ PlotWave family of printers, the Océ PlotWave 345/365 systems are made to meet the exacting demands of the professional CAD environment and produce high quality technical documents. Exclusive Océ Image Logic® technology ensures superb copies and scans on the first attempt without relying on conventional trial and error threshold management.

Designed to work side-by-side with CAD professionals, the Océ PlotWave 345/365 systems are a people-friendly and planet-friendly choice. Océ Radiant Fusing technology produces virtually no ozone emissions, lower levels of noise and lower levels of heat compared to conventional systems. That makes them ideal for workgroups where people can work beside them in comfort.

Availability
The new Océ PlotWave Systems are now available and will be sold through Canon Solutions America and its authorized dealers.
