Media Advisory: Coventor to Highlight 3D Virtual Fabrication Breakthroughs at SEMICON West 2016 Conference

CARY, NC --(Marketwired - July 05, 2016) - Coventor®, Inc., the leading supplier of virtual fabrication solutions for semiconductor devices and micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), today announced it will be exhibiting at the 46th annual SEMICON West conference in San Francisco, CA from July 12 - 14, 2016. Coventor will showcase SEMulator3D® 6.0 -- the latest version of its semiconductor virtual fabrication platform, which has also been named a finalist in the Best of the West awards. Along with software demonstrations highlighting the newest features of SEMulator3D 6.0 in its booth # 2622, Coventor will showcase how its virtual fabrication environment has been used to help understand and resolve issues in adopting new lithography technologies.

Coventor's CTO, Dr. David Fried, will be a guest speaker at the imec Technology Forum (ITF) given in conjunction with Semicon West 2016 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis (Salon 8) on Monday, July 11, 2016. ITF USA is a half-day conference held in conjunction with SEMICON West and supported by SEMI. This year's theme will be Towards the Ultimate System, looking at emerging trends such as the quest for the ultimate application and system driven by a careful co-optimization of technology blocks and the requirements of new systems.

In addition, SEMulator3D 6.0 has been named as a finalist in the Best of the West Award program, so Dr. Fried will make a 15-minute presentation showcasing SEMulator3D at the Best of West Showcase Session held at the TechXPOT South stage on Thursday, July 14 between 2:00 - 3:30 pm. The Best of West Award winner will be announced during SEMICON West on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

SEMulator3D 6.0 further increases the accuracy of the process simulation, geometry and modeling of advanced semiconductor processes with new features, usability enhancements and a new add-on capability for electrical analysis that allows seamless resistance and capacitance extraction directly from SEMulator3D process-predictive 3D models.

"Our innovations in virtual fabrication can help significantly reduce silicon learning cycles and the billions of dollars spent reaching manufacturing readiness for integrated 3D processes," said Dr. David Fried, who will explore the role of virtual fabrication within the semiconductor development ecosystem as part of his participation in the imec Tech Forum.

SEMulator3d 6.0 combines unprecedented accuracy and performance with a host of new automation capabilities to make virtual fabrication more predictive and accessible across the entire semiconductor ecosystem of foundry and chip manufacturers, fabless designers and capital equipment suppliers. The impact of these latest breakthroughs will be the focus of in-depth software demonstrations at Coventor's Booth #2622.
