Allied Machine Highlights 75 Years of Holemaking Solutions at IMTS 2016

Visit West Hall #W-2034 to celebrate anniversary with a look to the future

Dover, OH, Aug 31, 2016 - Allied Machine & Engineering, a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing tooling systems, celebrates the past and highlights the future at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which takes place September 12-17, 2016, at McCormick Place, in Chicago, IL, West Hall #W-2034. Allied invites visitors to celebrate 75 Years and Beyond, as the company pays tribute to its history of 75 years of holemaking solutions, while focusing on the future.

As part of its move into the next frontier, Allied will introduce the GEN3SYS® XT Pro line of high penetration drilling products. Also on display will be a line of roller burnishing tools available through an exclusive supply agreement with S.C.A.M.I., an Italy-based maker of high quality precision tools.

Stop by the booth to see the brand new GEN3SYS XT Pro line of inserts and holders, designed to match specific machines, material, and environments. GEN3SYS XT Pro inserts will be available for steels (ISO material class P), cast irons (material class K), and non-ferrous materials (material class N). The drills will be available in diameters ranging from 11 millimeters to 35 millimeters. Those in steel and cast iron will also feature new AM400 coatings, while non-ferrous materials are coated with titanium nitride (TiN).

Featuring holders encompassing 11 to 35 millimeters (mm), the GEN3SYS XT Pro line is offered in numerous depth to diameter ratios, including 3XD, 5XD, 7XD, and the brand new 10XD. The new design features an enhanced flute design that improves chip evacuation and an updated coolant configuration that increases coolant flow and directs coolant to the cutting zone. Available in imperial and metric shanks, the holders come in cylindrical and flanged with a flat.

On display at the booth are S.C.A.M.I. roller burnishing tools for both through holes and blind holes, which supply a mirror-like finish and a hardened surface due to cold working. On hand at the booth are Allied experts who can demonstrate how to use the burnishing tools to achieve very precise finishes and harden machined surfaces. The tools can be used on both CNC and manual machines.

The S.C.A.M.I. roller burnishing tools are available for through holes from 3.95 mm to 165.9 mm and for blind holes starting at 5.89 mm and going to 165.9 mm. They are also available in a variety of lengths, in both cylindrical and Morse taper options. Special sizes and specific application designs can be ordered.
