Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Thought Leaders to Speak at IMTS 2016

Speaker Presentations to cover Intelligent, Data-driven Manufacturing and Automation

Sep 7, 2016 -- Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence North America today announced two members of its thought leadership are guest speakers at IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show) 2016, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL from September 12 – 16, 2016. The Hexagon speaker sessions will address two leading manufacturing trends: intelligent, data-driven manufacturing and automation. This year's IMTS Conference program is focused on continuous improvement, and features a wide range of industry topics on five tracks: process innovations, alternative manufacturing, plant operations, quality, and automation.

In the Quality track, Joel Martin will present "Moving Quality Intelligence into Manufacturing Machines" on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 3:15pm - 4:10pm, in the McCormick Place West Building, Level 1, Room W194-A. Martin will discuss how intelligent measurements can be placed within an automated cell to allow quality to drive the manufacturing process, improve throughput, and reduce scrap. The presentation will cover specific examples where both real-time and near real-time feedback is used to drive either an industrial robot or a large NC (numerically controlled) milling machine to control how a large assembly is manufactured. He will explain how the method greatly reduces, or even eliminates in some cases, the need for a downstream quality control process verification. Joel Martin is the Laser Tracker Product Manager at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, North America.

During the TRAM Aerospace Conference, Scott Everling will present "Aerospace, Metrology and the 4th Industrial Revolution" on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 10:30am - 11am in the SKY Ballroom B, Room W375-B. He will cover how the 4th Industrial Revolution will change the competitive landscape and reshape aerospace manufacturing processes in the coming years. Many aerospace companies are focused on becoming more agile, flexible, and responsive to varying customer demands and the rapid changes occurring in the global marketplace today. This concept of customer/economy-driven production processes has manufacturers of small parts to large aircraft examining how to gain more flexibility to quickly scale production up or down. Everling will explore how metrology is playing a role in making this vision a reality for those involved in aircraft manufacturing. Scott Everling is the Product/Business Development Manager, Integrated Solutions, at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, North America.

Hexagon's Integrated Solutions Business group will unveil a new-to-the-market Automation solution in  Booth E-5202. Hexagon will highlight its portfolio of recently introduced products being demonstrated throughout the week. The company will also showcase a full-sized Airbus EC130 Helicopter and an official racecar from Hendrick Motorsports, winner of a record 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championships.            For a full overview of Hexagon's products, speakers and events at IMTS 2016, visit this webpage.
