LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9, 2016 — (PRNewswire) —  The creators of Royal Story, a free Facebook game that features a colorful and beautiful kingdom inhabited by adorable animals and eye-catching graphics and buildings, are pleased to announce that Glenn Kim will work on the redesign of the popular game. Kim is an experienced artist who has worked on some of the most well-known Pixar titles, including "The Incredibles," "A Bug's Life," "Finding Nemo," "Toy Story 2," and more.

As a spokesperson for Royal Story noted, over 19 million people have already built their own kingdoms in the game, which allows players to expand their kingdoms, fight against the evil Altessa and explore new territories. Since it first launched 3 years ago, the game has attracted millions of monthly active users.

"On the Facebook Fanpage, Royal Story has 3.5 million fans, and this number keeps on increasing," noted the spokesperson.

When asked why he decided to work on redesigning the Royal Story characters, Kim said he felt that he could correct two key elements that were missing.

"All of the characters have been made by different artists, so there was not one style and guideline for the characters' designs," Kim said, adding that he also thought the characters were no longer centered on the royal theme.

"I felt that they characters could be more interesting and appealing to fans of the game."

To update the game, Kim started with Merella, an iconic character who was also the easiest to update. After showing his redesign ideas to the studio lead and company bosses, Kim continued with his work.

Kim said that Pixar had a huge influence on the redesign of Royal Story; like the Pixar movies, the game features a visually positive design and plenty of colors, and even the monsters are not scary and are more appealing.
