ModuleWorks Press Release - MTS chooses ModuleWorks simulation technology for tool grinding

Oct 25, 2016 -- MTS AG, the specialist software provider for CNC grinding machines, has chosen ModuleWorks CAD/CAM software components for 3D material removal simulation.

The ModuleWorks simulation components are integrated into the MTS “tool-kit PROFESSIONAL” software for the production and regrinding of milling, drilling and lathe tools. This enables MTS to offer a proven, state-of-the-art material removal simulation for the specialized CNC tool grinding segment.

The ModuleWorks material removal simulation provides multi-axis simulation with gouge and deviation analysis as well as collision checking and manual or automatic refinement of the simulation result. Workpiece coloring according to different criteria such as the tool, cutting length and change in tool orientation provide enhanced visual analysis at a glance. On-screen statistical information and a feature for measuring distances add to the analysis. The simulation window is implemented directly in the MTS software to ensure a consistent look and feel for end users.

“Simulation is an essential part of the tool grinding process”, explains Stephan Maasberg, Managing Director of MTS AG. “The ModuleWorks team has expert knowledge in this field which ensured fast and seamless integration and enables us to offer a high-performance, cost-effective solution to our customers.”

“It is particularly pleasing to see the ModuleWorks technology accelerate and enhance the development of tool grinding software”, says Yavuz Murtezaoglu, Managing Director of ModuleWorks. “It underlines the flexibility and quality of our software components and our growing reputation as a solution provider and integration partner for companies in an increasing number of business sectors.”
