PDF3D Announces Support for macOS Sierra

Advanced 3D PDF authoring software suite supports the latest Macintosh® OS release.

London, UK, October 27th, 2016 - PDF3D, from Visual Technology Services, today reaffirmed its commitment to Apple technology innovations by announcing 3D PDF native application compatibility for macOS Sierra® (10.12). This latest Macintosh® OS operating system released in September improves user experience and helps manage valuable storage space on portable MacBooks®. The PDF3D suite on macOS Sierra is used in digital media, government, education, geospatial, scientific research and engineering sectors.

Apple's Macintosh platform has long been the first choice for creative professionals, digital media, design, publishing, photography and visual presentation authoring. With 3D, virtual reality, rich interactive media and 3D printing gaining momentum, the Macintosh® is increasingly used as a 3D authoring platform.

Adobe has long supported creative professionals on Apple's Macintosh platform with the Creative Suite® (CS), InDesign®, Photoshop®, Acrobat® and the Adobe Reader®. The PDF3D application support on macOS Sierra complements and enhances CS and Acrobat by enabling the generation of stand-alone off-line 3D PDF documents in a managed design work-flow.

In particular the PDF3D ReportGen application stands apart as a unique tool available on macOS supporting over 70 3D file types, using advanced PRC file compression methods while supporting advanced 3D features such as 360 panoramic photography, animation, PMI and scripted story telling. The PDF3D suite is available for macOS versions Mavericks®, Yosemite®, El Capitan® and Sierra. A full SDK is available for the XCode® C++ developer community, enabling 3D PDF generation to be embedded into other applications.
