Roland DGA Announces Launch of New METAZA MPX-95 Photo Impact Printer

Roland Also Introducing Optional Kits for Gift Personalization and Industrial/Medical Part Marking

IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 2, 2016 — (PRNewswire) — Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of digital fabrication tools including 3D milling machines, 3D printers and engraving machines, has announced the launch of a new photo impact printer – the METAZA MPX-95

With its diamond stylus and powerful impact force, the MPX-95 can add custom text, data and images with photographic detail onto a wide variety of hard metals, such as stainless steel, iron, titanium and platinum, as well as softer substrates like gold, silver, copper, nickel, aluminum and acrylic – quickly and with pinpoint accuracy.

The advanced functionality and versatility of the MPX-95 make it ideal for a range of gift personalization applications as well as medical and industrial part marking. Perfect for gift shops and kiosks, it allows users to easily imprint photographs, vector graphics and text on everything from pens, smart devices and jewelry to golf clubs, trophy plates and giftware. Within healthcare environments, the MPX-95 can serve as a highly effective UDI (Unique Device Identification) barcode impact printer. It allows the user to easily imprint individual instruments with a serial number, 3D symbol or other marking to better manage the stock availability, location, usage history and maintenance records of those instruments.

Roland also offers two optional kits for the MPX-95 photo impact printer – a Gift Kit and a DPM (Direct Part Marking) Kit – that enhance the impact printer's specialized capabilities for these respective applications. The Gift Kit includes both large and small clamp pins, a standard vise, and a movable center vise to hold items in place while they are being marked. The DPM kit consists of software that generates unique identifiers for each instrument, as well as a gripping vise, a moveable center vise and clamp pins. Both vises allow the position of the item to be fine-tuned by aligning it with the laser pointer after it has been clamped.

The MPX-95 also features a removable base table and plate, allowing it to work with a greater range of items, including larger objects.  Bundled METAZA Studio software allows for the importing, editing and processing of images and text right out of the box. A laser pointer assists in identifying the area to be marked, enabling users to imprint items easily and precisely without any special training.

"This next-generation device is Roland's most advanced, user-friendly and versatile photo impact printer ever," said Matt Anderson, Roland DGA's 3D solutions product manager. "The MPX-95 makes it simple to imprint virtually any photo, logo, text or part number on even the hardest of metals, quickly and quietly, without any mess or debris. And, with the specialized kits available, users can optimize their production of unique, personalized gifts, or the marking of important instruments for medical and industrial use."

The Roland MPX-95 photo impact printer base unit has an MSRP of just $4,995, while the optional Gift and DPM kits are priced at $1,395 (MSRP) and $4,495 (MSRP), respectively.
