Allied Machine Highlights Innovative and Durable Structural Steel Drilling Solutions at FABTECH 2016

Visit Booth # C49075 to see T-A® and GEN3SYS® XT

Dover, OH, Nov 16, 2016 - Allied Machine & Engineering, a leading manufacturer of holemaking and finishing tooling systems, is highlighting its innovative structural steel drilling solutions at FABTECH 2016, November 16-18, 2016, in Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV. Visit Booth # C49075 to see the T-A® Structural Steel Drilling System and the Structural Steel GEN3SYS® XT holder and insert system. Also on display will be the new GEN3SYS® XT Pro line of inserts for steels.

The T-A® Structural Steel Drilling System on display delivers outstanding performance and durability. Titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) insert coating increases tool life while providing better hole tolerances. The dedicated body diameter ensures increased rigidity and less deflection. The T-A system’s through shank coolant (TSC) adapts to all major structural steel drilling equipment and the through tang coolant (TTC) features a removable plug that readily adapts to equipment designed for through tang coolant supply. The T-A structural steel holders are also designed to use NotchPoint®, 150°Structural Steel, and GEN2T-A® drill inserts for thicker wall materials.

Also at the booth is the Structural Steel GEN3SYS® XT holder and insert system, designed specifically for the machines, material and environment commonly found in the structural steel industry. Enhancements to both the insert and holder provide the superior chip formation, life, and toughness required for these harsh drilling applications. The inserts feature C2 (K20) carbide grade with AM300® coating for optimal tool life. They are available in common structural steel hole sizes, in 3, 5, and 7xD lengths.

Stop by the booth to view the brand new GEN3SYS XT Pro line for steel materials geometry, ideal for low and medium carbon and alloy steels. The new line is designed to provide increased penetration and excellent chip control. It features a multi-layer AM420 coating that increases heat resistance and improves tool life. Tests conducted demonstrate up to 40 percent improvement over competitive drills at the same speeds and feeds.
