IMAGINiT Technologies Offers Intelligent Construction Technology from Leica Geosystems

Expanded Partnership Provides Systems to Help Bring Building Information Models into the Real World Quickly, Easily and Accurately

Owings Mills, MD, Dec 15, 2016 --

Rand Worldwide (OTCBB: RWWI), a global leader in providing technology solutions to organizations with engineering design and information technology requirements, announced that its  IMAGINiT Technologies division expanded their sales and training offerings from Leica Geosystems. The expanded offering includes robotic total stations, controllers and other hardware and software solutions from the industry-leading Leica iCON (intelligent construction) portfolio. These solutions are now available for purchase, along with  proof of concept and training services, and are just the latest in a wide range of building information modeling (BIM) and reality capture solutions available through IMAGINiT’s partnership with Leica Geosystems.

Lueder Construction, an IMAGINiT customer, is already recognizing the benefits of using the Leica iCON products. “The Leica iCON series allows us to take the full complexity of our designs directly out to the field in full detail,” states Andy Gradoville, virtual design and construction manager with Lueder Construction. “The intuitive workflows and easy interface of the unit and controller allow us to very effectively take our digital designs out to the real world.”

“IMAGNiT’s Reality Capture team is always working to maximize the benefits of BIM for construction, contractor and facility managers by integrating the digital world with the real world,” says Bill Zavadil, senior vice president, professional services, IMAGINiT Technologies. “Today, we can now offer construction teams a complete round-trip solution that includes Autodesk software, Leica Geosystems hardware and software, and our expert training and proof of concept services.”

“We are pleased to have IMAGINiT add our iCON portfolio of products to complement their reality capture solutions, further expanding their offering to more applications in the construction market,” expressed Ken Mooyman, president of Hexagon Geosystems, NAFTA. “As one of our largest resellers, IMAGINiT brings deep expertise in building information modeling to customers across the US and Canada. They provide them with a best of breed holistic building construction approach that leverages a unique combination of Leica Geosystems’ construction solutions and IMAGINiT's reality capture services.”

iCON Robotic Total Stations

The  Leica iCON Robotic Total Stations and the iCON Tablet Controller allow direct interaction with BIM in the field so construction teams can perfect their workflow, reduce errors and increase profitability.

Robotic total station technology replicates model layout points in the field providing construction teams with accurate, real world implementation so buildings are constructed as designed.

The Leica iCON robot 50 and Leica iCON robot 60 integrate with  Autodesk BIM 360 Field and  Autodesk Point Layout allowing construction teams to increase their speed and accuracy of:

  • MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) and HVAC (Heating, ventilation and air conditioning) layout
  • Layout points for pipe insert or cut-outs before concrete is poured
  • Foundation footings and more

The ease of use and one person operation of these high-performance machines saves both labor costs and costly rework in the field.

iCON Tablet Controller

The rugged touch screen  Leica iCON Tablet Controller brings the user’s office directly to the field by facilitating the real-time flow of data between on-site construction crews and the central office. This seamless flow of current data minimizes errors and ensures projects stay on track.

IMAGINiT’s Proof of Concept Consulting

With in-depth knowledge of Leica Geosystems’ solutions, Autodesk software, BIM and the building lifecycle, IMAGINiT’s unique  proof of concept consulting helps companies identify the optimal technology and process to improve construction workflows. Beyond set-up and implementation, IMAGINiT’s  customized training solutions further help staff maximize their construction productivity technology investment.
