The Linux Foundation Appoints Eileen Evans to Board of Directors

VP and Deputy General Counsel for Software and Open Source at Hewlett Packard Enterprise to Serve as At-Large Director

SAN FRANCISCO, March 21, 2017 — (PRNewswire) —  The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit advancing professional open source management for mass collaboration, today announced that Eileen Evans, Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Software and Open Source at Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), has joined The Linux Foundation Board of Directors as an At-Large director. Ms. Evans had represented HP and then HPE from 2012 through 2016 on the Board as a Platinum director.

At HPE, Ms. Evans leads and manages legal support for HPE Software and provides legal and program management guidance for open source at the company. Prior to joining HP in 2010, she was a Director and Associate General Counsel at Sun Microsystems, and then Oracle Corporation following its acquisition of Sun. In addition to her work on The Linux Foundation Board of Directors, Ms. Evans represented HP and then HPE on the OpenStack Foundation Board of Directors from 2012 through 2017.
