HawkEye 360 Expands Advisory Board With The Addition of 7 New Members

The new advisory board members bring a diversity of expertise, including in geospatial information, data and security technology.

BOSTON — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 6, 2017 — HawkEye 360, Inc., an innovative technology company developing new geospatial information solutions utilizing space-based radio frequency survey, today announced the addition of seven members to its advisory board. The new members bring a diversity of experience, including expertise in space technology, geospatial information, and data security.

The new advisors include:

  • Richard Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of Good Harbor Security Risk Management
  • Phil Carrai, President of the Technology and Training group for Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, Inc.
  • Letitia Long, former Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA)
  • Jeffrey Hurst, Managing Partner at Commonwealth Capital and Staley Capital
  • Stewart Baker, former General Counsel of the National Security Agency and the first Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Norm Coleman, former U.S. Senator from Minnesota and legal counsel at Hogan Lovells specializing in federal regulatory policy
  • Mike Sheehan, former CEO of Boston advertising firm Hill Holliday and former CEO of Boston Globe Media Partners, which publishes The Boston Globe

The new advisors join four other members, including such space experts as Scott Large, former Director of the National Reconnaissance Office; David Deptula, a retired Lieutenant General, United States Air Force, who is now the Dean of the Mitchell Institute of Aerospace Power Studies; Gwyn Whittaker, former CEO of Mosaic Inc. who is now with Deep Water Point; and Rand Beers, former Acting Secretary of Homeland Security under President Barack Obama.

Richard Clarke: Mr. Clarke is CEO of Good Harbor Risk Management, which advises companies and governments on cyber security. He served for 30 years in the U.S. government, including an unprecedented 10 continuous years as a White House official, serving three consecutive presidents. In the White House, he was Special Assistant to the President for Global Affairs, Special Advisor to the President for CyberSpace, and National Coordinator for Security and Counter-terrorism.

Phil Carrai: Mr. Carrai is President of the Technology and Training Group for Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, Inc., where he is responsible for all aspects of business operations, sales, mergers and acquisitions. Previously, he was the CEO of Ai Metrix, a telecommunications software company focused in the defense and commercial markets, which was sold to Kratos Defense in 2006.

Letitia Long: Ms. Long recently retired as the fifth Director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the first female head of a major U.S. intelligence agency. She served at all levels of the National and Defense Intelligence Communities, including 20 years at the Senior Executive level in the Defense Intelligence Agency, OSD, naval intelligence and the Community Management Staff.

Jeffrey Hurst: Mr. Hurst brings nearly 30 years of private equity and venture capital experience, concentrating on information technology, communications infrastructure and analytical systems. Prior to joining Staley Capital, he co-founded Commonwealth Capital Ventures, a leading Boston-based venture capital firm focused on early and growth stage technology companies.

Stewart Baker: Mr. Baker is the former General Counsel of the National Security Agency, the first Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and author of the book, The Limits of Trust: Cryptography, Governments and Electronic Commerce.

Norm Coleman: Mr. Coleman is an attorney specializing in U.S. federal regulatory policy. He was elected U.S. Senator from Minnesota in 2002, and served on the prestigious Foreign Affairs Committee. He has also served as Chief Prosecutor for Minnesota’s state Attorney General; Minnesota State Solicitor General; and Mayor of Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Mike Sheehan: A seasoned advertising and media executive with more than 30 years’ experience, Mr. Sheehan is the former CEO of Boston advertising firm Hill Holliday and former CEO of Boston Globe Media Partners, which publishes The Boston Globe. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and earned his B.A. in English from Saint Anselm College, where he previously served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
