Invicara Releases New Version of BIM Assure to Deliver Better Data for Owners and Facilities Managers

New Features help Designers, Builders, and Owners Work Together for a Complete, Reliable Data Handover

Ann Arbor, MI – August 30, 2017  -- Invicara, provider of transformative solutions for building information modeling (BIM), today announced the release of  BIM Assure 1.3, with new features focused on expanding access to building data. The new features provide opportunities for AEC firms, consultants, and owners to create an integrated BIM data platform that helps owners get better control over their building data throughout the entire building lifecycle.

“In the past, my owner clients have struggled with limited access to BIM data and they’ve always asked, ‘How do I know my data is right?’” says Mark Mergenschroer, BIM Application Specialist at  Bernhard TME. “With BIM Assure, I can help my clients easily get access to models and data throughout design and construction. I can validate the data so now they can be sure they’re getting the data they need and access to the models also helps them get a head start on planning for occupancy and building operations.”

BIM Assure is a collaborative, cloud solution that unlocks BIM data and helps entire project teams collaborate on data quality. BIM Assure’s intelligent rules help quickly identify and resolve issues to improve BIM data quality. In addition, the easy-to-use Web app provides a common BIM data environment that lets architects, engineers, contractors, and owners (AECO) share models and manage data, creating new opportunities to streamline design and construction workflows and improve project delivery.

BIM Assure’s new capabilities include:

·       Focused Data Access with BIM Assure Slices:  Building models are often large and complicated – which makes it difficult to get to the data needed for specific workflows. BIM Assure’s slices help project teams focus on the parts of the building and the data relevant to them. For example, designers, contractors, and facility managers can focus on assets that require maintenance planning and managing key data like equipment manufacturer and model, installation, and warranty dates.

·       Support for IFC BIM Data Standard: BIM Assure now supports the IFC specification developed and maintained by buildingSMART International. Project teams often use many different tools to generate the data that owners need. BIM Assure’s IFC support allows AEC firms publish data from the best tools for their workflow and provide owners with a broader, more complete data set at handover.

·       Enhanced Reporting: BIM Assure’s enhanced Element Reports export building information in Excel spreadsheets – making it easy to import validated, complete data into FM software.

“Many building owners face the same challenges when it comes to BIM; limited access to their data, the inability to monitor design and construction, incomplete and fragmented handover, as well as being unable to use their models during operations,” says John Lynch, Invicara’s Chief Product Officer. “With BIM Assure, design and construction firms can work with their clients to give them access to data throughout the project lifecycle, to keep projects on track and under budget, and help owners optimize design and cost.”
