Keynote Speaker Ed Linhart Presents Development of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at HxGN LOCAL Aerospace Summit

Presentation explores the high-profile F-35 program from design to assembly line

Oct 10, 2017 -- Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence today announced Edward Linhart, President of ECBB 3DPLM, will deliver the keynote address for the HxGN LOCAL Aerospace Summit on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Linhart served as Vice President of Global Production at Lockheed Martin from 2003 - 2007. His keynote presentation entitled "Development of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter" will cover the manufacturing and supply chain challenges of this new-era aircraft from his unique perspective. The keynote session will begin at 9:00am at Wichita State's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR). For more information, visit http://hxgn.biz/2yThcOj.

Mr. Linhart steered the high-profile F-35 program from design to flight test to an assembly line — achieving a production rate of one aircraft per day. Prior to this period, he was a consultant to small and large companies from 2001 to 2003, including Lockheed Martin where he headed an Engineering Blue team that worked to get the F-22 back into production. Linhart has won numerous awards and worked on many aerospace programs from design to production, including the F-22, over his 40-year career. Linhart holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, and a Master's Degree from California State University at Long Beach.

Immediately following the keynote presentation, the program agenda includes knowledge sessions covering composite inspection and repair, closed-loop manufacturing, and how to use 7DoF to engineer intelligent manufacturing cells. Also planned is a special session on shaping automation and HxGN SMART Quality for aerospace applications. In the afternoon, attendees will have access to a wide range of live measurement solution demonstrations including state-of-the-art portable arms, scanners, and laser trackers. Technology experts from Hexagon and NIAR will be on hand to discuss smart quality, reverse engineering, robotics and automation, and other aerospace related issues.
