Achronix’s Increased Revenue, Expanding Workforce Drives Move to Larger Corporate Headquarters

  •    Move Designed to Accommodate 2018 Outlook, Growing Number of Employees to Support Technology Portfolio

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 25, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --   Achronix Semiconductor Corporation today capped a year-long string of successes, including 700% year-over-year revenue growth and an expanding workforce, by opening its new corporate headquarters with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony presided over by Chief Executive Officer Robert Blake and Santa Clara Mayor Lisa Gillmor.

“It’s a great honor for me to be here with Robert Blake and everyone at Achronix as we celebrate Achronix’s new corporate headquarters,” remarks Mayor Gillmor. “Achronix’s decision to move to a larger facility in Santa Clara is a wonderful testament to our great city.”

As a leader in FPGA-based hardware accelerator devices and embedded FPGA (eFPGA) intellectual property (IP), Achronix’s move will accommodate the growing number of employees to support the investment it is making in its technology portfolio. Products include Speedcore™ eFPGA IP, Speedchip™ FPGA chiplets for MCM or 2.5D package integration, Speedster® application targeted FPGAs and ACE design tools.

“The dramatic increase in demand for our FPGA-based products is driving our need to attract talented people to develop new innovative products,” says Blake. “This move is far more than an expansion of our corporate headquarters. It is the next step in defining a new growth phase for our company and realizing the tremendous opportunities in front of us.”

The Achronix hiring plan is based on its plans to further enhance its high-performance and high-density FPGA technology for hardware acceleration applications in data center compute, networking and storage; 5G wireless infrastructure, network acceleration; advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles. A majority of the new hires will be in hardware engineering and software engineering positions.

Achronix is forecasting further revenue and design win growth in 2018. Additionally, Achronix will expand its product portfolio with a large investment in its next-generation FPGAs that will be built on TSMC’s 7nm process technology. Achronix’s next-generation products will have densities up to five-million look-up-tables (LUTs), core operating frequencies up to 750 megahertz and support customer-specific custom blocks that deliver up to 2x performance and bandwidth compared to standalone FPGAs.

With the additional headcount, Achronix will enhance its Speedcore eFPGA product offering by accelerating the time to deliver the completed IP, timing models, simulation models and other supporting integration files to under six weeks. Achronix also will expand the number of process technologies supported. Additionally, the ACE design tools feature set will be expanded, and in combination with partnership tools, offer complete solutions for machine learning/deep learning (ML/DL), accelerated search, encryption/decryption and compression/decompression.

The new address of Achronix’s headquarters is 2903 Bunker Hill Lane, Santa Clara, Calif., 95054 and is approximately 25,000 square feet, substantially larger than Achronix’s previous corporate offices.
