UPCT Students Design Novel K-Band Multiplexer Using NI AWR Software

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – May 2, 2018  AWR/NI announcement:

Multiplexers are a key part of communication satellite payloads as their performance significantly impacts the overall system. Students at the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT) designed a novel three-channel, non-contiguous multiplexer at Ku-band (11 GHz) with all-inductive technology by leveraging the capabilities of the NI AWR Design Environment platform, specifically Microwave Office circuit design software.

“The NI AWR Design Environment platform enabled our team to reduce design time by using equivalent circuit optimizations rather than longer full 3D simulations,” said Alejandro Pons Abenza, who led the UPCT team. “Because we had been using the software in our engineering courses, there was no learning curve and we could begin designing immediately.”
