Andes Technology and INVECAS Announce Partnership to Win RISC-V-Based SoC Designs for Advanced Processes

San Jose Calif. , Nov. 12, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Andes Technology Corporation, a leading supplier of small, low-power, high performance 32-/64-bit embedded CPU cores, and INVECAS, a provider of leading edge IP solutions, design services and turn-key ASIC  capabilities today announced a partnership. The aim of the collaboration is to win RISC-V-based SoC designs for advanced Fab processes.  Andes brings to the partnership its extensive RISC-V IP offerings: A25/AX25, N25/N25F, and NX25/NX25F 32- and  64-bit CPU IP cores. Invescas supplies turnkey silicon proven SoC design solutions for diverse market segments, which include IoT, automotive, bio-medical, hand-held devices and compute, among others.

“We are pleased to partner with Andes Technology,” said Taher Madraswala INVECAS, EVP & GM. “This partnership will benefit both companies. INVECAS will leverage its design expertise with Andes new RISC-V IP Cores to provide a fast-track for SoC design teams wanting to implement the open-source RISC-V IP core without the delay of coming up to speed on this new open-source CPU instruction set architecture.  INVECAS has already implemented the Andes CPU IP cores for control on test shuttles in the most advanced process nodes. We also look forward to development of platforms for vertical markets in the near future.”

“Collaborating with INVECAS is a real coup for Andes Technology,” said Emerson Hsiao, Senior VP of Andes Technology USA Corp. “Having a top-tier ASIC design services company helping designers implement RISC-V CPU IP in SoC designs will accelerate adoption on the open source RISC-V ISA, and it will help expand Andes’ customer reach.  Internet-of-things (IoT) is an application that will benefit from the RISC-V ISA.  Andes expertise developing small silicon foot-print, low power, high security, and leading-edge performance for the algorithms being developed for IoT have been built into our RISC-V family.  INVECAS ability to implement on most fab advanced processes such as 22FDX, 28HPC,  14 or 16nm or even 7nm will extend the capabilities of the 64-bit Andes CPU cores to applications such as AI and Deep Learning”
